RIP CURRENT

Imagine getting caught in a rip current wondering what can I do. Well if you don't know what to do then read what I have to say.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A RIP CURRENT:
There is a part of the water that is different coloured. Sometimes the ocean colour can go lighter or darker. It is difficult to find ways to identify a rip current.

HOW TO AVOID A RIP CURRENT:
To avoid a rip current you need to stay between the red and yellow flags. Don't swim far out to sea where no one can see you. look at the sign that will tell you what the dangers for today are.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT:
Imagine getting caught up in a rip current, what would you do. Well if you did
get caught up in a current then don't try to swim against the rip. Try to put your hands up, don’t wave your hands side to side because the people on the beach might think that you're trying to wave so they might wave back at you. If no one comes out to rescue you just wait, Try to float on your back until rescue comes.
If you’re at the beach just take a good look at the ocean to see if there are rip currents and stay between the red and yellow flags if there are some. Make sure you check the sign to see what the dangers are for the day.

TEAM FIVE  Term 4

At our Immersion Assembly after team 4 teachers  finished their little performance it was team five’s turn to show our topic to the rest of the school. The teachers from team five went onto the stage with excitement. They started painting an unusual object,  With confidence the teachers  brushed blobs of black and white paint on the paper.

When the teachers finished their painting they moved to the side and I took a little glimpse but didn't really get it. “Are we dreaming or are they lost” I thought to myself. Suddenly the teachers came back and turned their painting around. “Then” I saw what they had amazingly painted, Mr. Jacobson, Mrs. Jarman and Mr. Burt’s faces.

It looked like the teachers traced it. The painting looked magnificent. I didn't know the teachers in team five had such amazing skills in art. So this term’s topic is about ART, and the history of art. This term’s topic is going to be very fun and exciting for all of team five and the rest of the school. Art is one of my favorite subjects.

La Luna

Paddling gradually through the ocean the buff man looked at the night sky illuminated by stars. Paddle after paddle the surface of the water went blurry. While he was rowing the dingy continuously the little boy looked out the side of the side of the boat pairing at the ocean He looked at his reflection in the ocean.

Wiping his hand across the surface of the water it went blurry as the ripples went away distorted. His reflection was distorted. The boat glided slower and slower on the water then stopped.

Diving

Diving is a sport that has been in the Olympics since 1904. It is an  international sport. In the Olympics there are no 1 meter springboard dives just a 3 meter springboard dive and 10m high platform dive. It is a sport for acrobatic, athletic people who can balance themselves and people with flexibility and kinesthetic and air awareness. These were the most common characteristics in this sport.

The way the diver performs is crucial. the judges score 3 points for the flight, 3 points for the entry, 3 points for takeoff and an extra point they can add for excellent diving. Extra height means a higher score. The body position of the diver has to be straight and both  feet together at all times. The diver needs to have an accurate dive and has to perform stunts like somersaults and twists. The more complex the moves the more points they can score. But you also have to enter the water vertically. The athlete with the most points is declared the winner.

Soccer

SOCCER…

Walking to the courts we had seen our new Kiwi Sport teacher waiting next to the netball hoop near the staff room. She Told us her name was  Sophia. “Please sit down so we can get started on our first lesson”. Said Sophia.

Sitting down, Sophia handed out  blue and yellow bibs to half of the class. Getting a blue bib from Sophia I tucked it on the side of my shorts. We all had to spread out across the court. Before we got started Sophia told us all the rules. 1) We could only get or have on bib. 2) We were not aloud to fend. 3) We weren't aloud to  hide the bib in their shirt.

Running like a loose dog round and round the court, it was to hard for the ripper to take my tag. I protected it like it was my own child. There the whistle went, suddenly everyone around me had stopped in an instant.

empathy

      EMPATHY

Empathy means to put yourself in another person's shoe and see how it feels. To  understand where the other person is coming from.

You show empathy by understanding and share other peoples feeling. Empathy  is about respect, humbleness and honesty.  Another thing about empathy is by understanding  other peoples culture ,example: if a person is standing and eating people might think that he is  really rude but its that persons culture.

If there is a new kid in the school what do you do? do you just leave him or her alone or show empathy by making him or her feel comfortable in school. The best answer is showing
empathy so the boy or the girl will be your friend.

PLAYING AGAINST ST PETERS…..

PLAYING AGAINST ST PETERS…..

Running onto our home field determined to win the game against St Peters. The ref called the 2 captains from both teams. While both captains were doing rock, paper, scissors our team was waiting to see if we were going to receive or kick of.

We were kicking of to St Peters. Waiting for the ref to blow his whistle. When he blow his whistle I kicked the rugby ball down the right side of the rugby field. Our forwards were  rushing up on the defense to put pressure on St Peters. The game was intense.

There were turnovers here and there. In the first 10 to 15 minutes St Peters got  the first try of the match. They missed their conversion. We ran back to the halfway line and kicked the ball straight away. They took the first hit up. Tackles after tackles after tackles. The game was nail biting. After a blink Jabez got the rugby ball put his foot back and ran as fast as the wind.

sounds

SOUNDS If there was no sound in the world the world will be less fun. The world will be boring no sound no music no music no fun. Sound is a very interesting fact to study. Sound created instrument and instrument makes sound that creates music. There are many ways to make sounds and different object that can make sound. Sound can make people get loots and good jobs like joining into a band. Sound vibrates when you hit an object and pushes the air molecules to other and hit your eardrums and that will convert into electrical signal to your brain. There are different pitches of each sound, some sounds has high pitch and low pitch. Low pitch goes slower but high pitches goes faster. Every sound has different amplitude which is another name for volume. The top of the sound wave is called crest but the low part is called trough. As you can see that sound is important, without sound there will be no fun in the world. Sounds can be created with different objects and that will create an instrument. I like to hear different music they sound really good.
